Readers display their R/C Tanks
Our third R/C tanker is Mr. Dick Bernier. “I live in
Mebane, North Carolina USA. I retired after 20 years as a Senior
Development Engineer at GE. I am a retired Senior Fellow and belong to their
Century Patent Club with well over 100 patents in advanced circuit breaker
technology. I have been building models since 1945. My retirement business
is called Meister Scale at www.meister-scale.com.
I still enjoy designing things, WWII fighters, RC tanks (have 6 of them)
and RC subs (have 8 of them). I do volunteer work at the Tank Museum as a
Project Manager and Director of Acquisitions and Volunteers. I interface
with several museums and Directors worldwide and have an excellent rapport
with Aberdeen.”

“This is a picture of Dick's Late Tiger
I that is finally completed. Dick did a wonderful job on the upper turret and
the suspension modifications. I did the attachments, zimmerit, then and the
paint job. The vehicle is Kurt Sowa's tank 222 of sSSpzabt 101 in
Normandy, and is supposedly the vehicle that Wittman commandeered for
Villers-Bocage. David Merriman of RC submarine fame was kind enough to take the
photos.” David S.
